This course is an introduction to speech communication. The course topics focus on the practical skill of public speaking, including how to adapt a speech for different occasions and audiences, how to effectively support students’ ideas, how to help the speaker to reduce anxiety, and how to use visual aids to enhance speaker presentations. The goal of Public Speaking is to prepare students for success in typical public speaking situations and to provide them with the basic principle of organization and research needed for effective speeches.
