This course introduces students to discrete probability models and other important facts in probability and random variables. In the terms of discrete probability models, the following kinds of distributions will be covered: binomial and multinomial distributions, hypergeometric distribution, negative binomial and geometric distributions, and Poisson distribution. In addition, this course will introduce the following topics: axioms of probability, conditional probability and independence, jointly distributed random variables, properties of expectation, Limit theorems, Markov chains.
