This course provides an introduction to dynamics. Kinematics and kinetics are the two main topics covered. We will explore the motion and system of particles. Emphasis will be placed on the idea of energy, momentum and impulse. Upon completing the course, students will be able to mathematically describe motion of particles and rigid bodies using various coordinate systems, and calculus; and also to calculate forces caused by accelerations using methods like: Newton’s Second Law, Principle of Work-Energy, and the Principle of Impulse-Momentum.
