Summer 2020 CHE 021 Introduction to Chemical Engineering Analysis 4 cr.
Class Session Time Syllabus
1 5-week summer Mon - Fri CHE-021-5

Description

This course will provide students with foundations for nearly all future chemical engineering courses and analysis. The process of accounting mass and energy will be studied through the whole semester for students to have a clear idea of two key principles: 1) the conservation of mass and 2) the conservation of energy. Both reactive and non- reactive systems will be discussed. We will apply the conservation of mass in the form of mass balances to chemical systems. Later in the semester we will apply the conservation of energy in the form of energy balances to chemical systems under heating, chemical reactions or phase change.

Prerequisite(s)

None.
