This course introduces the political, social, economic, and cultural history. It will also cover the history of the United States from the Civil War to the present day. Key topics include Reconstruction, urban and industrial development, immigration, social movements, consumer culture, World War II, the Cold War, the Vietnam War, Watergate, and the legacy of these issues in recent decades. Students will understand and evaluate their society, comprehend the historical experience, and further develop reading and writing competencies and critical thinking skills.
